Procurement Officer

Position objective:

Be responsible for organising procurement activities for various categories to deliver sustainable value to the business.In consultation with key stakeholders, identify and support their business strategy and goals through the delivery of commercially beneficial sourcing.Actively contribute to the Group Procurement culture of continuous improvement and commercial targets.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage various procurement categories with the addressable spend up to $1M.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies that are endorsed by the business and approved at the appropriate level.
  • Deliver against the category strategy targets.
  • Be an advocate for P2P and ensure that all procurement outcomes have a defined and compliant buying channel.
  • Manage and conduct the full range of sourcing processes from identification of requirements through to contract negotiation, execution and post contract award management and utilise Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain systems and processes effectively.
  • Support bid teams and the acquisition of new business through the provision of effective and current outline agreements, rate cards and contracts.
  • Driving value from the company's expenditure through collaboratively working with stakeholders and using evidenced based decision making.
  • Assist in full tender / bid management where required, commercial and contractual aspects, overall programming and ensure programs deliver against business objectives within required period and budget is achieved
  • Actively contribute to the Group Procurement culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
  • Constantly look for opportunities to take cost out of the business.
  • Support the development and preparation for group-wide reporting including procurement Balanced score card and benefits realisation.
  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of supplier economics and supply market options and opportunities.
  • Develop effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate delivery of Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain objectives.
  • Manage all procurement activities within assigned categories and sub categories from cradle to grave.
  • Build and maintain open and transparent relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective compliance with all procedures and governance frameworks, including the use of procurement systems like Ariba and Wave.
  • Provide & manage system documentation approvals, procurement schedule and ensure program conflict resolution is resolved
  • Provide advice on procurement matters to the business during planning and strategic works Ensure all procurement process outcomes are documented; oversee compliance with all procurement policies, processes and procedures and governance frameworks
  • Actively participate in the Performance and Development Review process, ensuring alignment to the performance pillars - Perform, Grow, Develop and Innovate.
  • Carry out all work activities upholding the Company values of Integrity, Ingenuity, Collaboration and Challenge.

Skills and Competencies

  • Relevant Commerce, Business qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Category Management, Contract Management and SRM.
  • Solid understanding of transactional procurement, systems and processes.
  • Ariba and Wave  
  • Sound commercial acumen.
  • Good communication, analytical and problem solving skills correlated with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Leadership and teamwork, listening and influencing ability with key stakeholders in a multi-site and industry environment.
  •  Administratively self-sufficient, including experience in using an SAP ERP system, CRM/SRM systems, data warehouse, e-procurement systems and Microsoft office software.
  • Able to plan and organise workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced skills in Excel (Essential)
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in PowerPoint (Essential)
